Abstract
This article’s conclusion is that the theories of Einstein are correct and will still be relevant in the next century. Those theories are Special Relativity, General Relativity, and the title of a paper he published in 1919 which asked if gravitation plays a role in the composition of elementary particles of matter. This paper was the bridge between General Relativity and the Unified Field Theory he sought during the last 25 years of his life. In an article published in the “Annals of Physics” in 1957, Charles Misner and John Wheeler claimed that Einstein’s latest equations demonstrated the unified field theory. But Einstein himself felt he had not fully succeeded.
